Romania will obtain 30 billion euros in unredeemable funds from the EU budget between 2007 and 2013, according to the state secretary in the Ministry of European Integration (MIE), Leonard Orban.
“Romania categorically saluted the signing of the agreement regarding the EU budget for 2007-2013. It is an extremely positive signal for Romania,” said Orban, who was a negotiator with the EU.
He repeated that the president of the European Commission, Emanuel Barroso said that Romania is included in the budget, a fact that proves it will become an EU member in January 1, 2007.
“This signal gives us the right to be extremely happy,” said Orban.
